Day 19

Thought I was a little little little little late for school, but turned out that I wasn't :D... 

Aaron woke up late, had something to do, so, absent. Will update him tomorrow, or something.

Err.. today wasn't a very productive day. Only managed to film TY running. D: but I hope things turn out well. Actual plan was to take pictures of her running... BUT.. the pictures just had to be BLUR.. Wanted to increase the shutter speed BUT... it would end up looking too DARK.. So, yeah, fed up, thought of new ways, so we end up taking only the video of her running. Then, we'll some sort of make it look like a photograph or something. Yeah.. Er anyway, it was a change of location (filming, I mean..) The two places are not linked :x... but in Design School, there's no wrong answer, right? ;)

Wanted to film for animation(which was my part-_-) and the door also, like, at least edit the door.. cause the mouse cursor is..too big??? or something... Erm,.. but.. yeah.... Ha.. >_>;

So, to kind of compensate for it, TY and I are planning to go school earlier(if we manage to wake up..) to film on the door, with hope that the animation lab will not be occupied (that's one of the reason why we didn't do it today..)

Will be editing the door later, if I don't accidentally sleep, suddenly feel sleepy, get distracted, or anything like that. Ahaha. Shouldn't take a long time..

Day 18

Woke up. Slept again. Ended up waking up late. Rushed to school cause I was helping Germaine's group carry their video camera. Glad I wasn't late.

And so... helped Germaine's group out on their introduction, along with Shermin. They filmed their introduction twice. Hopefully they got what they wanted. Go you people! :))

Ate lunch with Raj, Wendy, Greg, and Jeremy.

Went around to see if there are people who are willing to help our group act as students again, but this time, with Ronald. :) Was kind of tough.. Everyone was  busy with their work. But anyway, some of them managed to make it. Thank you so much people!! and those that actually offered to help. Much love :) Anyway, Ronald was sooooo funny x) and cute. Ahaha. =) Thanks a lot to you too, Mr Ronald! :D :D :D You made my day. Good acting :P but I still can't believe it's your first time acting :x

Err.. then,... since TY forgot to bring the shirt she wore yesterday, couldn't film/take pictures of her running today. [It's okay! I told you! :))] Ah.. didn't do much.. Not a very productive day.

Anyway, I was the first to go off today, off to dinner with my brothers and uncle. Walao... brothers never tell me it's my uncle's birthday =___=... but anyway, my stomach had a good day :))))) My heart didn't.

Oh... also took some more photos today...not much. AH.. come to think of it, I missed the chance to take pictures with my brothers too D: Silly me.

Sent mail to Wahidah....but i think there was some error.. So i'll go resend it. =_=.

Day 17

Like I said, I had better blog on the day itself. Ah.. didn't sign attendance today. Wondering if we actually have to? Cause we're filming and we're actually always in school...but not class.

Helped Shermin's group act. Quite a number of people got confused on who's the one filming.. L o L . . . Was the "fake crew". We were supposed to "film" Derrick being slapped by some girl. Cute little group mates did some "demo". Guess what? Aaron and Vivien were like acting for fun but Vivien, forgot to stop, got too into it, and actually end up slapping him. His specs even flew >_>;;;;..... ^^;;;.. Hope he's okay. Ahaha.

Filmed on Video Fundamentals today. Thought it was.. er.. kind of.. not well planned again.. Glad to get Shermin, Adeline W, Cheryl, Derrick, Germaine, and Yuan Ming to help us act. :) Boon Bin and Raj's group couldn't make it. JY disappeared and left his "cinderella shoes"-his sketchbook laa.. Thanks people. and So sorry D:... Felt guilty.. I am a super bad bad bad "director".. I believe I've wasted lots of your time. Same to Julian...but thanks for some opinion...and time. :).. Was actually super nervous as unprepared when I was told to film it all by myself D: . Never really did that before. Was also stressed cause there's some changes to the storyboard... D: Almost broke.. haha...=_=;.....I hope we don't need to reshoot it. Also hope that the group members will take a look at it and, er, yeah..

Played some computer games in class. Slowly, began taking pictures of the others playing. Then, was supposed to film but wanted to take some group pictures. Then, l o l . . . got distracted, therefore, yeah.. Aaron then slept, so Vivien, TY and I took more pictures.. lol..TY, you're strong! for being able to carry me o___O.. :) but ah.. should take more GROUP photos. Ahaha. :x

Like I said, was supposed to film TY running but ahaha, change of plans. We'll film it tomorrow or something. 

Then,..transfered all the pictures. End up doing some fun stuff and youtubing. [Hur hur hur? =x]

Day 16

Ah.. figured I had better blog on the day itself or a few days after.. because if not i'll end up forgetting OR.. well,..yeah,.. like the previous posts.. >_>;

Totally forgotten that we've to pass up a hard copy of our blog entries today. Only knew when Vivien told me. So, rushed to complete the blog(That's why so short? lol).. in fact, I accidentally slept.. so, I only managed to do it on the day itself. BUT.. I have no idea why we have to print them out...like, what's the blog for? What's internet for? I thought blogs were for lecturers to see/read our progress..true BUT WHY do we have to print it out??? It's a waste of money, paper, ink, and time(the queue was long and some @#$#^@%^ people took super long, staying infront of the pc for like, half an hour?). Yep -_-.

Anyway, back to the day itself. Today was the day we actually started filming on our content. Introduction was filmed on Saturday already :). Panicked cause Mr Alan didn't show up even when it was already 2. So, went up a few times to the staffroom to reach him. AT LAST,.. found him :). Wasn't very prepared actually, and they were rehearsing their lines and all.. Ah.. D: but anyway, yeah, managed to film Mr Alan in it. [Thanks for sparing some time with us eventhough you're busy!] Well you see, it was the only day when we actually get to film him cause he'll then be on leave D:. Nevermind. It was a good thing it was short x).

Also filmed the part where the puppet flies pass the 2D art paintings. Since some were already gone(we were asked to bring up our paintings by at least, tomorrow noon), we shifted some of the paintings and then filmed. Oh.. it was a good thing we managed to borrow a trolley from the school. :) Filming was made easier that way. Hmm.. Aaron also managed to find some string/rope from some banner that wasn't in use anymore. So yay :). What is it for? You'll see it in our video when it's done, that is, if you pay enough enough enough enough of attention :). Anyway, it was kind of fun filming it I guess? I was in charge of pulling the string/rope >_>;;..Ah yes, pictures can be found in Vivien's blog. The video's really funny cause they were actually filming but yet...lol..if you actually get what I mean..

Hmm.. sorry group members. Have yet rendered the door in 800x600 pixels D:..

Then, was told to draw/sketch the puppet, chibi-fying it. Drew it, scanned it. I hope it's okay. Have yet to receive any feedbacks on it. Was happy that I met Amanda. She's nice :).

Later, met the group members for dinner :). I have no idea why Aaron and Vivien always argue with each other. Ahaha. Funny but yet errrr..dot dot dot at times. Hahahah...

Anyway, thought that there should be some changes for Drawing Essentials... Rather than using the same drawing, we could actually use different ones..just that it still ends with a human drawing later..and for Animation Fundamentals, thought that some sketches before animating should be added. Also, since my script is sooooooooooo long, I'm going to shorten it. I have 0-ZERO confidence in memorizing the whole thing. [VIVIEN AHHHH....WHY YOU MAKE IT LONGER.......] And I've also thought of putting up works directly, rather than watching it from the pc screen. Thought it would actually look better and more sufficient.

Ah..and.. D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D: D: ....

My 3D Art Fund coil thingy broke.. Accidentally hit it then.... D: D: D: D: D:

Saturday

Met the group members in school.

Tape was some sort of dirty or dusty so we had to wait for it to get cleaned D:. Then, decided to buy a new tape from opposite school.

Did filming for introduction. OMG those people sure take their time to walk.. >_>. but nevermind. Had some difficulties. Yep. Have yet to choose videos.. but one thing for sure, it was better than the previous takes :). Ting Yu had to go cause she has work. D: I hope she didn't end up being late for work >_>..

Showed the remaining group members the completed door. :)

Friday

Nothing much happened. but YAY. It was the last day of the block. Thus, last day of DHC! :D :D :D

Day 15

Interim Assessment Day.

Honestly, we weren't very prepared for the interim assessment. Remember the short clip of some trial take on the introduction? We left it rendering in school but it was too big a file to fit Vivien's thumbdrive that has not much space left. So, we didn't manage to include it in our presentation.

Anyway, Wahidah was not very happy today, and starting penalising groups that were late or unprepared. Some were not very happy about it..

Uh huh,.. every group presented. Most of us did powerpoint. Since the file of the door opening wasn't in the computer, we only managed to show a still picture of the door. At that time, the door was still in progress.

Reason for adding puppet:

We added this puppet to make it look as though it is our fifth member in the group. It would always like to be in the lime light, having to be on camera. It will be very curious into finding out the course, so it could be seen at certain areas trying to listen or even explore the school itself. However, it will only come to life or hide away from Yi Chuin, the creator of it.  

What we've done:

—-We have begin animating the door for the introduction but still in progress as we need to animate the mouse cursor and of which color the door should be

—-Started doing a portion of the stone which will form the group’s name

—-Introduction of group members, however it didn’t turn out to be successful 

-Filming of the flowy journey but it too didn’t turn out as what we expected.

We didn’t really expected that the introduction of members and even the flowy journey itself would be that tough to film. One thing for sure, the camera that we used is bulky and heavy as well. Whenever, we wanted to film the introduction of members, people would always walk past. Furthermore, when we film Ting Yu, it was kind of weird just seeing her jump so we decided to let her run up front and jump to make it more natural.

The other groups did well in presenting too. Found it quite interesting, on the approach style they're going for. They showed some clips for us to get a glimpse on what they're doing. :)

Day 14

It's the interim assessment tomorrow.

Erm, animation of door is almost complete. All that's left is the colour of the door, frame, and timing. Had some problems there just to decide on the colour.. but anyway, in the end we chose red.

Later, since it's the interim assessment tomorrow, we had to get some things ready. And so... TY edited the storyboard. Aaron edited the script. I did the timeline. Vivien did the powerpoint.

TY also edited the video a little but there were some problems so we had to re-render it again, this time, in a MUCH MUCH shorter time. Previously it was like, 11 hours? Then it became about 40 minutes. But anyway it was late already so we decided to go home. Sent the pictures and video to vivien online.

Day 13

It's a good thing we have an active blogger or at least someone who has a good memory in our group. Why?? It's for references. AHAHA.

Anyway, didn't do much on Day 13. Had DHC in the morning today. After class, saw Vivien doing her DHC Sincity assignment. Helped her out with it, in coloring..(Yeah, no prob..) lol. Aaron and TY then came to join us. TY colored her assignment also, Aaron slept. Then, 3 o clock came and it was time for their DHC. No fair.. I was the only one who had morning lesson today D: So i went back home, supposed to rest, but anyway, did the door, but incomplete. Met up with group members.

Did some filming on the introduction. It seems that it's actually hard to do it.. Like, it's easy to imagine but ya..not film it. Decided to do it on Saturday because that's when, we think, the school would be occupied with lesser people.

And then, went to the 3D animation lab to look for door textures. 

Day 12

Wahidah wanted to see us on our script. Told us the right way to write camera shots and movements. Example: Mid shot of the leaves of the tree, tilting down to mid shot of the tree trunk. She also said we need not write things that the audience would already know, meaning some unnecessary sentences are to be removed. Then, we talked about the dialogues. Some are still weird. Wahidah told all of us to read the script so that we would actually know what's going on.(Sorry Vivien. You had to answer all her questions^^;) Then, she also commented on the puppet thingy since we added more of it in the video. Basically, the puppet will be trying her best to get noticed, to be in the video, trying to help out? Wahidah also gave some of her opinions. Thought that she sounded quite excited about it too. Ahaha. Anyway, she said why not show the puppet only when I am not around/did not notice =(. Hmm...I don't mind, but it seems a little different from what the puppet's personality should be. Nevermind =). Oh, Wahidah also said we could, and actually, SHOULD use the previous storyboard we did for Video Fundamentals. After that, loaned the video camera but TY forgot to bring the tape.

So we went to the 3D animation lab to do some test on animating the door. Turned out okay but erm, ya. We need to know how the door would look like. Had some problems cause the door, when animated, changed texture. 

Haven't really started on animating the stone cause I've DHC homework to do too =\. BUT ahaha..too bored to do it now so I blog.

So,..today, showed Mr Ronald the sketchbooks. Nothing much. Showing it to him again when TY brings hers. Later while waiting for Alan to be out of the HereAfter HD room, saw Mr Ronald and Vaani. Had some talk with them. OH, anyway, managed to ask Mr Alan and Mr Julian if they could help us act. For that, ooohhhhhh waited till about 5+ pm. but good news! They said they can help us out, but they're only free on Monday. This week is really really a busy one for them cause there's the Final Year Project presentation. Alan is on leave from Monday onwards. =\ but anyway, since both of them agreed, AHAHA...RONALD HAS TO FULFILL HIS PROMISE! :P

Then, showed Ronald the storyboard. Ahaha. So funny. They(since Alan and Julian came later) were talking about how they looked in the storyboard. Alan actually took a picture of it! OMG. HAHA. Anyway, NOT RACIST AHHH.. Yep. Oh..Ronald said since there were 3 people thinking of majoring in animation in the group, the video should have more animation >_>.

Slowly, Julian followed by Ronald and Vaani left. Had some talk with Alan. We showed him the storyboard. He said the door could actually done in After Effects, but 3D would be fine too. He also said we should have drewn some of the flying camera shots, like background when the door opens(but then again, come to think of it, it will be bright at first). He also said the photographs becoming a video one with TY running would be hard because we don't have the equipments. He mentioned things like HD equipments, bluescreen, greenscreen, etc. He said it was a good idea but yeah, maybe we should have done some test before deciding on it. He also came out with the idea of using animation then fading into real TY running. So hmm,.. we'll see how things go? About the others, can't really remember the exact term and all.. Bad memory.. haha.. Oh yeah, he said eventhough we were given a lot of time, we should not do last minute work... Yeah..

After the talk with Alan, went to Tampines Mall to meet Aaron and TY for dinner. Ah.. there's this Open Plaza thing.. Saw them play. I saw smiles all over =). It was a nice sight. Vivien and I dare not try it though.. Then, went in to eat dinner. Then, to the arcade where Aaron and TY had like, 2 matches of...some hockey game thing. Don't know what it's called. Haha..violent..but full of excitement. Last round, all of us played. Ahh... >_>... I suck and I was the only one who did not get any injury at all ahaha. Hmm then Aaron and TY had Vivien sit inside this Snoopy thing... Hahahah =) and they took a video of it. Later, went to the interchange where we swinged our hands together Ahaha. Embarassing but fun..? Erm, then went to TY's place. :O Didn't knew they were serious about it. Ooooh we played this eye... ..forgot what it's called. Then, TY brought her rabbits. :) Looked at some of her childhood times photographs. :) Cute. :)) Then, yep, all of us went back.

Ahh.. it's such a pity we didn't have the video camera to tape all of this.. BONDING.. fun times :) Wondering if I could be like them one day. But that is quite far away for now. I'm not a daring person, so that makes me a boring person. =\. Nevermind.

Reminder: Have to e-mail Julian and all about the filming. Maybe see Alan on Friday too? Lecturers are having meeting at 2? So yeah, maybe the interim assessment would be on Thurs :(

Saturday, 16th Feb

Supposed to meet Vivien and TY at 10.30am to get the manikin/mannequin(both are correct) from Art Friend @ Bugis but Vivien accidentally left her phone in silent mode so... yeah. When I couldn't get through her phone, told them that it's a change of plan. Aaron-work.

And so.. resumed my precious sleep, ended up waking up at 12+pm. Met up with elder brother for lunch. Eventually, went to Orchard. Window shopped, and OMG we actually got something for ourselves =). Also, got a manikin from Art Friend @ Takashimaya. =) There were about 3 sizes like, Small, Medium and Large but the prices were..actually,..surprisingly,..quite close. Chose the Medium sized one. =) There's this very funny and nice uncle working there by the way.=DD

Met up with Vivien and TY later at night. Discussed a little on where the puppet animation should be added. Also looked through the script, schedule, identifying the shot sizes and some camera movements. Will be talking more about it on Sunday when all of us are available. 

Message for TY: Get more rest! =) Hope you didn't suffer too much today x_X.

Vivien will be editing the script, and I will be doing on Schedule for next Monday to Wednesday. TY will be resting. (You better do! =))

Message for Vivien: Don't push yourself too much. If you're sleepy, just go to bed. =)

Why is it McWeek?

On the 13th Feb, went to McDonald's to discuss with group members. Of course, ate.

On the 15th Feb, went to McDonald's to eat dinner with friends. (Remember the CG screening thing?)

On the 16th Feb, went to McDonald's to eat lunch with elder brother. Then, ate dinner at McDonald's with Vivien (TY ate already?), had group discussion. (AH..maybe I should have eaten dinner with my brother..)

Ah..was late for meeting(Sorry TY!)...

Then, Vivien showed up. Helped Vivien edit the script.

Day 11

FINALLY had some sort of discussion with Wahidah today. She said nice transitions, script a little weird at parts so we'll need editing, that it might be hard to talk naturally in front of the camera, and that the puppet thing at the end with credits was weird. Wahidah also said ours was kind of upbeat? as in we can't wait to share our experience with the audience, and that we should use the right tone and all. She also said that cause people can learn on their own, so what is it that people can get only when they join TP-MOI? What can they learn? Something like that.. So, we'll  have to think about it.

Aaron edited the timeline while the others thought of things to do on Monday and Tuesday, which one to film first, and when to start some animating. Wahidah mentioned that there should be more details in the VISUAL(Not Video)/Audio list. Vivien volunteered to edit the script. Hmm, we will be starting on animating the stone and door the latest on Monday, where both will be done in Maya. Filming for some parts of introduction starts on Monday. Come to think of it, wondering if the picture on the next page of the sketchbook I'm holding should have a drawing of Vivien about to open the 2D Animation Lab door...

As mentioned above, Wahidah said the puppet thing at the end with credits was weird, as in she suddenly popped up out of no where(from the storyboard part). The group thought it was alright though. Anyway, tried to think of another way - either to include but change, or exclude the puppet. In the end, decided to still use the puppet, but she will be appearing in the other parts of the video as well or so. We have yet finalised on it.

Just remembered we could actually do the square to rectangular thing, if you get what I mean..

Tried asking Mr Ronald if he could act for us today BUT he said NO. Zzz. Then, he asked for the storyboard and spotted Alan. SO,.. he said if Alan said yes, he would help us out. Couldn't find Alan =( so we'll either be contacting him through mail or look for him on Monday.

Went to watch some CG with Vivien, Raj, Wendy, Greg, Angie, Dion, and Jake after DHC class at Singapore Poly. OMG taxi fare is expensive... Some of it are not bad, but I guess we'll need time to be able to do those. Vivien liked one of the first videos shown. Yep. Heard that it's a competition. Hmm..so yeah, good luck to those who are joining =).

Day 10

Had DHC in the morning due to Valentine's Day. THEREFORE, had to get up early ZZZzzzz...

After class, met up with group members. Went to eat in the canteen. TY brought cake to school for Vivien =) Ahaha..like,so...STONE. Anyway, hope that Vivien enjoyed her day.

Went to class. Got to the level 6 pc lab to do the Video/Audio thing. Some sort of took turns to type. Had to admit, doing this thing to me is actually...boring. Not my cup of tea. I don't think it's 100% complete but anyway, we were running out of time. Went to the print shop, printed the Video/Audio thing and the timeline out. Results/comments will only be fetched later-Day 11. Then, group members separated, off to their own desired activities.

Actual plan was to go visit some new place near the TP bookstore but in the end,..Went to see the new school with Germaine, Gina and Adeline behind the Engineering school.. Woo.. culinary.. They were amazed by it. LoL. Cheerful, cute and funny people =). About the place,.. I like their clock.. haha.. and the people there seem to have fun, which is good. Maybe we'll be going to Sugarloaf later.

Ate Udon today in some Japanese restaurant-Waraku? Not bad.. but missed ice cream =(

Anyway, wanted to do some test on Maya but ah..too tired for that.. Maybe I shouldn't have went out for dinner with my brother & friend.

Day 09

Happy Valentine's Day, people =).

Finally finished the storyboard after 3 million years...(No, of course not, I'm just kidding. Influenced by Vivien. That's why it sounds familiar??) Few hours actually.. Was about to doze off so I tried to complete it fast. Felt kind of sick once I've finally finished it.. No idea why.

Felt kind of stupid when the storyboard wasn't actually showed to Wahidah or something like that but hmm, I guess it was okay. Group members took a look at it. Was waiting for comments...and if there's anything I had to change..but.. nothing much. So, yep, finalised.

So let's see.. Wahidah mentioned things that we should do and know before and during the filming. She said some things the director had to say.. Also, during filming, we should have a Shot List. If we don't have the softwares, do a Paper Edit and then edit it in school or something.

Day 08

Remembered visiting blogs but forgot to blog..

Went to school early to help Vivien with the schedule but she was near to completing it when I reached. Noticed something wrong-she got confused on the interim assessment and presentation dates. Thinking it was the 15th when it was actually Day 15 of the block. Thought, and problem solved. However, Wahidah wanted a not THAT detailed schedule/timeline, so we had to do another one. Aaron was in charge of that.

When Ting Yu arrived, she showed us the storyboard and Vivien, still awake, began explaining the whole thing to me. Gave my opinion, changed the storyboard a little. Added the idea of using animation in video.. Was actually joking but VV and TY seemed to like the idea. Ahaha. Anyways, it was the idea of someone flicking the puppet that's animated. Hmm..They also said the storyboard had to be more detailed so I was in charge of redoing it. TY was in charge of the script. Ah.. had to do the Audio Video thing too. After that, hmm, off to DHC class, and Vivien off to her trip to the museum.

Oh yes, we listed out the items to be brought the next day - Ideation works, and sketchbooks.

Met the group members at Tampines Mall McDonald's. Ate, then discussed. I have to admit and I actually wonder why.. like, why do discussions only get interesting when we're in McDonald's?Like, those are the only times when all of us actually enjoy our meetings. There's laughter, distractions, and all. It was nice though =). I had fun. Ahh..just recalling a few moments, we actually always happen to enjoy "Character Design". AHAHA.

Day 05 & 06

Had DHC class in the morning so I was earlier than the other group members that did not and wouldn't have lessons from Monday-Wednesday. Zzzz.. I wonder why it's always me that's different. Like, I am Malaysian so I have to return for Chinese New Year, I had a DHC class trip to some museum, only I am having a different DHC lecturer. Yeah,...something like that. AND SO... that made me miss a few meetings with the group members.

Met up with Vivien and Ting Yu, talked. Vivien and I showed our MGM lion logo design. Wahidah came in and asked about each group's progress. We told her about how our video would be like, from the introduction till the end. Erm yeah. Aaron was late but when he came, we went to the 3D Animation lab to edit our video. Ting Yu and I redrew the storyboard so that we could show it during the presentation on Day 06. Vivien monitored and helped us with the storyboard. When we were all done, went to Aaron's house to start on our slides. It was a tiring day. It was like 3 sick people and one crazy girl. AHAHA...no offence, Viv! :) Anyway, finished it with some troubles of what to put into it.

Day 06

Presentation day. Went to school early to put in the video that we forgot to save in our thumbdrives. 3D animation lab was actually occupied by a class. We actually took some time to gather some courage to get in and get the file. Once we got it, went to another pc lab to finish our powerpoint presentation. Managed like who has to present which slides and all. I only had to present like 4-5 slides because I do not like presentations and I still have cough. Got to class, only to find that Wahidah will not be able to make it on that day cause she's sick =\.(Dear lecturer, get well soon!) So, Alan would be taking over. He actually mentioned that we would be combined with Ronald's class...which was quite a shock to some of us.. but I'm glad the idea was dropped. Started around 12.30pm or later. Presented, and got some comments. Mallory liked the idea of the puppet but I wasn't sure of which part. Alan thought that we should have said more or like, be clearer about our timeline, and the group members' responsibility. He also mentioned that we should not just show our works and what we've done, but also like, I guess, what we've gone through. We were also told to be sure about the equipments and people that we need. Didn't stay for long. Had to meet up with my uncle at 1pm which was right after my group's presentation. Hoped to have seen the other groups' presentation and idea =\..but oh well, nevermind. Had a safe journey back, just a little shake due to some animal on the road, and cough. Updated on information thanks to group members' blogs and chat on MSN. =) 

01-02 Feb

Figured that I should start posting before my memory fails me like always. Ahaha.

Alright. About yesterday, I didn't manage to attend the meeting with my group because I had this Design History & Culture Class Trip to the Asian Civilisation Museum. Uh huh.. and when I was done, the rest were about to go back, other than Vivien - having class. Well, I guess this is where blogs play their part the most. I managed to grab some information from their blogs. Heard that they finally started on storyboard (sorry TY, couldn't help you with this yesterday =s). And the video starts of with ... Aaron doing something like the mgm lion intro>the video collage of the word MOI>collage zooming into one video of a PC screen>Vivien's idea of the flying camera thing>introduction of group members. They have also decided on the music for the intro and I thought it was nice. =) Just that I'm not so sure what kind of music to match with it next.. Hah. Well, yeah, I guess that's all for yesterday. OH wait.. Forgot that the day before, TY also gave an idea of showing the group members the way Gorillaz showed theirs. but nothing was said after that so...yeah. Hmm.. Short post-yay? Ahaha. I doubt people are actually reading this anyway.. =O"

Was told to get some roller coaster sound effect in which I searched in Youtube - link . Also searched for songs for the after intro parts.. but didn't quite knew what all members wanted. Like, maybe each member has a different thought on the songs to be used. Vivien also mentioned that maybe we could compose our own - but that would be kind of hard because we did not really learn how to actually record/compose. As far as I've known, we've only learnt sound editing.

Today, met Vivien and Aaron in school to do a test drive on Vivien's idea on flying camera. This time, TY wasn't with us because she had things to do. =O Well anyway, before that, they showed me the storyboard. Ahaha. TY, cute drawing. =)) Erm, then, the test on flying camera was.. kind of awkward. Hah. I didn't really know what Vivien wanted cause I didn't watch the Body #19 show (Horror movies are not my kind). but anyway, pointed to them on the TP school map and Aaron got this idea where we could zoom into the Design school on it. AND SO,.. they discussed and Aaron did a short test. Vivien actually wanted it to look that way but at the same time, by not making the viewers feel dizzy. BUT, they felt a little dizzy after rewatching it. Ahaha. They said it might be something like that but smoother. Then, we did a test on the introduction of group members. I didn't knew I was supposed to sit at the bench behind. I thought it'd be the one at the main entrance. Haha. but ah wells, any way would do. Yep. BUT MAYBE it would be better to do it at the main entrance bench unless there would be a cut or something cause TY would be around the ramp. Then, went to the 2D animation lab to listen to the edited song for intro and to see if it matches. Although it's like a rough, a little messy, and short video, yeah, it's okay. =) Hmm.. later, showed Aaron the Paprika intro and he ended up watching the whole movie in school. Hahah. While he was watching, went down to video the 2D art fundamentals paintings just to test and also just incase they take them away because I remember Amanda saying it'll be there about a week, then, we can bring it back home. Also took some pictures of them, but erm, didn't really consider the composition... So,.. yeah. And then,.. also went to try a little of Flash and After Effects BUT.... I seem to have forgotten most of the things we learnt for After Effects.. Flash is..still okay. Ahaha. Oh and Vivien went to look for some songs. Seems that she's quite into epic kind of songs... but with that already edited introduction song of ours, it's a little.. off.. Yep. I dunno. Perhaps one of us will have a better one or find a way to match them =). 

Oh..forgot.. Aaron also typed out the people needed for the video but it's not finalised yet. Wondering if lecturers are willing to help us..as in ACT =).

Hmm..come to think of it, I'm not so sure about how we're supposed to present things on Tuesday. Hope I'll remember to ask some people later/tomorrow.

Day 04

Went to another bigger class to watch some more examples. First one was something like a family video, but compiling everything from the past. It was about a happy family's life that changed because of one incident - not so sure what it is but it's quite serious. I guess the lecturers were trying to show us how people film, like, even if it's not properly done, it was okay as it suits the documentary. Plus, proper filming wouldn't look right. Anyway, the cameraperson recorded some personal scenes, like an argument, and he even recorded some scenes in the court, where it should be, erm, private I guess. Anyway, the videos showed to us today was supposed to be restricted, but it's in TP Library. HAH.

The lecturers wanted to show us ways we can approach things. For example, camera angles, and the way we compose them. They also wanted us to know that we can also use humour in our video, as shown in the other video which I can't remember very clearly. All I remembered was about a bank where when you register, you actually get a free gun. AHAHA. Kind of ridiculous. They also showed us a video about police officers using toy guns that actually looked and sounded real, and er, them being impressed? The last thing that I remember was about a dog that er, shot a person I guess? Ahaha.

Well anyway, the two classes that were gathered together were separated after that, and we were given time to discuss about our project. We had to get together and finalise some ideas and things we need to achieve. Alright,.. Anyway, Wahidah sensei said for our MOI P1 Day 04, we need to get things done like - the format, graphic style, presentation, and member's responsibility of our video. For the presentation, we need to at least include our theme, message, and objective. She also mentioned that they will be assessing us on Content and Presentation.

Aaron was absent today because he's sick. So, all of us went to the level 6 IMD lab of Mac PCs to go online to actually have an online discussion. We had a hard time going online because the internet connection was BAD. Yes, very bad. We wasted a lot of time trying to get online on ebuddy/meebo. After many many tries, we managed to get in but then there was this connection problem again. In the end, we didn't really manage to discuss much. All we did was finalise our group name and members' responsibilities.

Er, forgot to add "Graphics" and "Animation" inside our list. But anyway, I guess all of us will be doing part of them, especially TY, VV, and I, since Aaron is more into video and he will be handling most of the camera work. 

ANYWAY,..IDEAS!

I came out with an idea about a collage of graphics/videos of the word MOI or SPC (It can be either or). Then, zooming in or out of it. Don't really know if you get what I mean.. but anyway, IF we use it, you'll know =).

Then, Vivien came out with an idea about an introduction where once we click the button, there will be something like a door opening, then there will be this "Get ready for the ride of your life"(something like that) audio, then it's like a roller coaster ride from the bridge to the TP Design School, then straight to our member's introduction.

Aaron then said to link both ideas. For example, from the collage, a video, there's this person in front of the PC, saying "Hey, look at this!"(something like that) where we actually zoom into the pc and then to Vivien's idea but with a little changes.

I then thought we could actually use still images like photographs to show some places around the school but er I guess we've dropped that idea =). Actually, I forgot the reason why it was rejected, but anyway, still, dropped. Ahaha! Nevermind. At home, I thought of the same idea but starting with pictures in black and white, and with the school empty. Then, the people gradually come in or fade into the picture, and yep, it becomes a video.

But then again, come to think of it, Vivien really likes and wants the roller coaster thing cause she got so impressed from watching the effects in the Body show. 

Er, yeah. I guess that's it for today. They actually planned a meeting tomorrow at Aaron's place or something? But I can't make it because I've my Design History and Culture Class Trip from 1-4pm, while TY would not be able to make it at night. Ahaha. OMG. It's hard to get the group together. BUT it would be worth it because online discussion..is...actually...not good. Yeah, because people wouldn't know what you're trying to say.

I hope I do my responsibilities well. Yeah, anyway, like Wahidah said, you can give me more work to do since I'll be absent next week. =S...
